That has been my experience. I have not been west of TX since JAN.

    No runs to the west.

    Hey folks

I am looking at reefer carriers. Willis expressed interest, but at 26c/mi, 2000 mi/week (sounds like), it ain't happening. Mind you I do not want a company fraught with games and problems to start out with (I know, I know) so that is definitely worth something to hear they are straight with you. I was told to expect 2500/week on average. Sounds a bit low. They do not offer leases, either. It's so hard to know what I am really looking at, in any case... it simply comes down to c/mile and miles with most of them. KLLM is offering 32 and about the same-ish miles / week. If their lease program is not a complete rip, maybe that would work... I have a bidness degree so it doesn't scare me... but otoh, if it is screwed-up from the get-go, I'd just rather be a happy company driver...

Any other good stuff or newsy things to say about Willis? Thanks

Jason go with wse do your time one year and move on.wse is not for everyone but you get good training and mid size company.and at 26c/mi I bet you run hard but the key is stay out for at least 4 weaks tell dispatch you want to run hard prove yourself.

Thanks for the rec. As long as they are fair, I will work hard and see what's what as I go. I liked seeing all the different divisions of comcar as well. I'd like to avoid the "do your time" thing if possible... but I gotta take it all a day at a time... trying to plan everything hasn't worked very well for me :biggrin_25523:

Jason you got to put your time in all bottom feeder companys wright now are hard places to work at.What i mean is get on with them, and get a plan to move on to bigger and better things.Your first year will be hell no matter whare you go, wse at least pays fare on time and dont cheat you. You'll have some very bad days and some days that can't get any better but know your working on making a better life for your self if you have any? just ask I know wse pretty good.

Hey I am recent graduate and I saw a post from 2007 on your experience with Willis; are you still with the company and would you recommend this company for a new driver? I am in the process of narrowing down my choices and would like to start driving ASAP.

Any feedback or suggestions you have are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Smokeyman I'm not going to lie to you wse is for newbies.Good trucks,ok trailers.the one thing that will be though is lack of miles right now you should get 1800 to 2100 a week can you liv off that.can you be away from home for 4 weeks at a time that is the only wa to make any mony your frist year.I for one would go to wse for my first year, its a mid size company I like the fact you get to know the office workers.YOu will find it is a laid back souther company.I like how you get paid there you send in your paper work and you are paid with in 24 hours never been cheated on pay.If you got anymore ? smokey just post here and ill get back to you...
