I don't have a DUI, but I know lots of people who do.

In CA a DUI on your DMV record for 10 years. I have never heard of anyone having it removed.

If it was removed then a second DUI would be treated as the first, for instance. That's why I was asking. Having a crime expunged is one thing. Having it removed from all the databases out there is another, IMO

Hey Mr. M, I live in NC near Charlotte. Any good smaller companies out this way looking to hire a driver with 9 years experience. Clean DAC and clean record.

 

DUI's stay on your record a lot longer than 10 years in California. They are eligible to be looked at for expungement after 13 years.

That sounds about right to me.

I don't really think expungment will do the trick for most people in a few years. Once DAC/USIS and Choicepoint has it in their systems, lots of information that was once private and expungable, will no longer be so, for all intents and purposes.

Expungement is only an option before you obtain your CDL. Once you have your CDL, it is a 49 year wait (who comes up with these arbitrary timeframes). DAC shouldn't have a record of you before you obtain a driving job.
