I am 30, just bought my own truck. Must be some of us young guys with a "work ethic".......contrary to the popular belief of some of the "old school". I think it all boils down to what was initially instilled in you as a kid, some parents passed it on .....some didnt. I was lucky, mine did. Enough said!

There you go. Some of us might not be "old" school, but we were raised "old school".

What it boils down to is we are 20-25 years older. You can say the same to the ones that are 2-4 years old now! Hey little kid, you don't the half of it! :biggrin_2559:

I'm a 50+ wannabe. I have read many threads I think a lot of the differences between the young'ns and the babyboomers is.... life experiences. For OTR most of those experiences are just that ......being on the road. As many of the "Senior" drivers talk about the cabovers, outlaw trucking, map reading skills... and AM radio if they were lucky enough to have a radio in the truck. Basically a technology nightmare compared to today. That is hardship compared to conditions of today.
Young pups...would you be drive OTR if those were the conditions you would have to endure for 3 years doing OTR before you can get back into a Condo cab, APU, inverter, room for TV, fridge and microwave, A/C. Don't forget GPS and Sirrius/XM radio. Today technology offers many comforts for OTR drivers. Give these experienced "senior" drivers the respect they deserve for all the hard work they committed to and the conditions they had to deal with. These days it sounds like OTR drivers get no respect from anyone, why not at least support your own??
