I don't have a bobtail option and our Safety Department stated I can't get the 5th line unless I'm an owner op. Regarding elogs, some places might not want to play with your QC, but they might ask you to fax in your past eight days.

Oh, say it ain't so! You guys are cheating with Electronic Logging Devices! But the ATA, Safety Groups and the Federal Government tells us ELDs will prevent cheating! This blows my mind! Could the Government and BIG Trucking be lying and have ulterior motives? Oooohhh, say it ain't so!

What happens if you log off and the truck starts moving ? Does it automatically log in as the last user ?
Say your truck is in the shop and the mechanic takes it for a ten mile test ride --how is that handled ?

On mine it's called 'unassigned drive time'

once I log off it doesn't go against my log if the truck moves far enough to trip the status change. When I log back in a popup will say ' you have xxxhrs/mins of unassigned drive time. Do you want to credit this time to your user account? '

Well duh lol no I don't. Just click no and it logs me back in where I was when I logged out with my reset if applicable ( usually )

thats how ours are setup to cover maint or if it gets otherwise used while I'm not in it

peterd and "Hang - Man" Thank this.

simplest thing to do would be to log off as off duty, when you log back on when it asks for comment just put company too cheap to give us a 5th line, went to do laundry flagged event.

You need to ask your company about off duty driving. And you really always could just log off before you had to move the truck...

Ours are 25 and 2 miles. Was at a place that had 2 yards and picked up half at one and other was 5 miles away. I drove 2 miles staying under 25, It was a 25 zone so no saying unsafe needed, shut truck off and repeat til got there instead starting my 14 for that bologna.
