I think part of my good backing skills come from an inner drive to NOT be ridiculed due to my sex. I have already imagined (and read on here several times) about some FEMALE who couldn't back good. As if it were only females who have that problem and/or of course females can't back.

Anyhow, I also have a plethora of tattoos. I hope this helps, too, lol.

You got that right Beav! I learned that right away. Plus most of them trying to give advice will make things worse rather than help. The best help is a spotter until you get good at it. Fortunately my hubby is training me and we will be teaming.

FD...Yes the tats will definitely help! They also scare away alot of those truck stop "vendors" too...

I am pretty tenacious, and can handle the crap that will be dished my way. I know it is coming. I just want to learn as much as I can as I go, no matter who it is. Thanks for your advise, and knowledge!

I had three trainers. My first one a guy was a complet jacka$$ who couldnt keep his hands to himself. Then I had a female who was just as lost as I was and didn't know what she was doing then I had trainer #3 who was the bomb and he is the one that taught me everything I know.

I am a female student that just finished 9 weeks training with 3 different men...The guy all treated me with respect...One guy was even sleeping in his jeans until I realized he was doing this and I told him I had no problem with him sleeping in his boxers...It would not offend me. The 3 guy I was with was kind of a ##### but he could not help it he was from NY.

Right, LadyTrucker! I think I would do better with a guy, but hubby doesn't want me with a male trainer, so in deference to him, I've asked for a female. But, if I can't get the training I need, then all bets are off. I'm trying to make a new career for myself and my family and that's what it's all about at the end of the day. Just carry yourself with respect and if you run into any nonsense, notify your FM immediately and get another trainer. I walked away from a company that wouldn't get me another trainer even after 3 weeks of my letting them know what was going on (and not going on). Do I regret it? Only because now I have to start at square 1 again if I want to do this job. Otherwise, nope.

Wonder if we males can request female trainers too ?

Think it may be easier to follow direction ?

All joking aside... I was 49 at last occupation a year ago and switched jobs and had a 23yr old mighty fine respectful married female show me corporate ropes. And it was a ride along occupation as well... To bad the big bucs required me to have only a brief window of training opportunity ....

After CC school and the possible OTR training I will make it my intention...

    What the hec?

I requested a female but I sat for a week and then they told me they had a trainer but it was a guy and I really didn't care as long as I got started but I had a terrible time with him and I had to be very cautious of him because he harassed me constantly.

The only "female" trainer I had was a butch... I mean a lesbian and she was soooooo mean, rude, icy cold, screaming, verbally abusive and angry all the time, criticizing everything that I did and didn't do... Not helping me at all, not allowing me to eat in "her" truck, complaining all the time about just everything... just made me soooo freaking nervous.... it was a nightmare.... Stupid me for not asking to go back to terminal and get another trainer right away.... because "she" told them lies about my driving and got me fired... :biggrin_25510:
