In PNW, (WA, OR, ID, MT, UT) perfectly OK to have the Dump/Lift switch in the cab; you just cannot have the regulator for the axles air bag in the cab for the lift axle. Too many people were cranking the regulator as the truck crossed the scales to get an extra little bit past the weight cop way back in the 80's, so most states that allowed the heavy weight on the normal permit required all the adjustments to be outside the cab.
Since then, most states have relaxed the laws allowing the dump/lift switch to be on the inside and the regulator has to be on the outside, to prevent weight adjustment on the fly. I am not sure about CA; to lazy to look up. But I would sure like to know. CA is a 80,000lb state anyway so a drop is nothing but a weight penalty for a truck. However, I have worked for outfits that run their 6,7,8 axle rigs to CA with the NW set-up of switch on inside, and regulator on out for a drop or two.Last edited: Sep 11, 2017

Threadjack time.
What I really want to know is, how many bikes is too many bikes?Gunner75 Thanks this. -
Bikes and guns are governed by the same rule: When you have exceeded appropriate storage space for them, you have too many.Toomanybikes and TripleSix Thank this.

When you have more bikes then garage space. When you have bikes hanging out at friends houses.
Picked that name long ago in the infancy of the internet when on motorcycle forums everybody was the name their favorite bike ( i.e.. ShovelHead, GSXR, Sl70, YZ490) I just had too many bikes to just pick one name. Just kept the name and most of the bikes over the years.OLDSKOOLERnWV and TripleSix Thank this. -
A wise statement. I shall cannonize it in the Book of Man. How about some porn?
ChaoSS Thanks this. -
Cool story.
It is said that, when building YOUR bike (you know, the one that you put part of your soul in) that people should be able to look at your bike, and then look at you and say, "it makes sense." The Lone Ranger had "Silver". Roy Rogers had "Trigger". Zorro had "Tornado. Peter Fonda had 'Captain America.'
I have "Hades"
What do YOU have?
EDIT: I have realized that half the truckers I know, in my area of the industry are either ex-lawmen or ex military. And they CCW and they ride. I had no idea until I went to a small clubhouse rally, and 200 bikers show up with more firepower and blades than at a gun and knife show. What is it about this end of the industry that attracts the same people?Last edited: Sep 11, 2017
Feedman, DDlighttruck, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have to disagree with that analogy on guns, because i have a garage that my wife doesn't use, therefore it's all mine so if my 52 gun safe gets full, i have a large 2 car garage that has enough footprint that i can get another liberty safeOLDSKOOLERnWV and fargonaz Thank this.

OK, now here is the honest to God truth. THERE IS NO SUCH THING as too many bikes! That is a fable dreamed up by terrified little wives, who on one hand, would LOVE to see their husbands made into hamburger, but on the other hand are TERRIFIED that if that happened, the rent couldn't be paid...
Nope. Build more storage.
Sigh, nothing any more.
Probably couldn't ride it if I had it.
I guess it's sort of a "cop" thing. I really can't explain it.
TripleSix Thanks this. -
Then when you have that safe, you can get more guns without having too many. What's the problem?crb Thanks this.
