I am a Pdi dealer and I am near Charlotte. Just want to post my experiences with the tunes on Acerts. I always do mufflers and fuel filters/fuel pressure when I do the tunes ... I gaurantee .4 tenths mpg... I have never had 1 come back... All are pleased. Some get better...did 1 before charlotte. He's called tickled with truck and got .6 mpg gain. Really you can't afford not to do it in my opinion. RW

WELL, all I have read about the PDI tune is right. The truck runs really great, I noticed it right away after getting a load on last week. Let me tell y'all what I did....I took a load to PA, after loading for the trip back to NC, I fueled up to the tippy tippy top and took 83,000 lbs or so back to NC. A 360 mile trip over some decent pulls, 2 lane driving in PA in MD, aggravating Balt.-DC traffic, and then some interstate cruising....made my delivery and drove straight to the pump...6-7 miles away to fill up. I got 5.92 mpg with a load the whole trip. So I figure I ought to bounce over the 6 mpg mark when I run a whole tank that will have some empty miles mixed in. I am really excited about running a whole tank of fuel and getting a good real-life average. My old average every quarter is around 5.35 or so. I hoping that will all change over the next quarter. But 6 tenths gain and loaded the whole time seems pretty impressive to me. I like to think that this early 5.92 would be considered a low ball figure and can do nothing but go up when some other miles are mixed in. What do y'all think?? Like I said, Im really looking forward to a real life average. I will update as soon as I get more experiences with my new PDI tune. Again, thanks so much to Jerry and Mr. Haney for all your help and taking time to explain cool tech things about the tune. I hope to have another update soon. :biggrin_25514: :biggrin_25525:

hi Rob, a friend of mine just bought an 05 Western Star with a BXS like mine. I referred him to you and Mr Haney both to get it done up - whoever he gets closest to 1st.

Like you said - you can't afford not to do it.

My results were/are similar. When I 1st got the tune I used the power to run a bit faster than my usual 60 - 62 and still got a 6/10ths bump in mileage. Then I bought an RGN trailer similar to the one I was pulling but a different brand and it was too low to the ground. Since I needed tires I replaced the low pros with tall tires to pick up clearance and dropped 3/10ths. That was disappointing, but for what I do the extra 4 inches lower allows me to pull taller freight. My point is that there are a lot of variables involved that will effect results.

ITS GETS EVEN BETTER!! I ran a few trips to the mountains of VA and back to the coast of NC, of which about 1/2 to 2/3 of the running was on 2-lane road. I averaged 6.17 mpg!! I am very impressed compared to the 5.35 or so I was getting!! I saved $85 on a fill up compared to the stock tune I had. At that rate, it won't take long to get paid back and then start saving money. Idle time?? What idle time? :biggrin_25525: I have an apu on the truck and the only idle time I really have is time running my wetline and time allowing for the turbo to cool down. I may let it run on occassion while running in to pay for fuel, grab a sandwich, drink, or some small errand, but most of the time idle time is at a minimum. And as far as the power, WOW, never ran this good. Passing trucks going uphill while I'm weighing 84,000 is a smile-maker. :biggrin_2559: I told several of my friends, you can't afford not to do it!!

oneshot, DL550CAT and Mr. Haney Thank this.
