Any ideas about these companies?

I've heard good things about Pride.

I worked for calex about 5 years and it was a good company a long time ago if you like to run coast to coast but they got rid of the loose leaf logs and they castrated the trucks down to 68 mile an hour.
Shortly afterward 80% of the drivers quit including myself so I can't really say what it's like now . The only thing I do know is they are so desperate to get drivers that they now hire people right out of truck driving school and when I worked there they required two years driving eXperience. USA Truck is an OK company to get started. Last I heard they used C1 driver school. Do your year stay safe and you can either stay there or find another carrier, good luck!

 

They called you back so quickly because they are desperate to fill their trucks. I hope you know what you're getting into with that company. I worked there for 3 months right out of truck driving school and was unable to afford a decent bag of dog food for my dog on the wages I was making working for that company so needless to say I jumped ship after 3 months and I was making an extra $600 a week working for Werner my first year out of truck driving school than I did working for USA truck at $0.24 a mile @ 800 miles a week.

 

I've read many posts on USA Truck and it seems ok. Biggest complaint is the rookie drivers not doing proper pre/post trips on trailers. That's pretty common with most carriers though. It's not that difficult to write up a light not working or a worn or flat tire. Paychecks seem to be good though not 100% of the drivers for every company will have the same experience.
