I passed one of their step decks today on I-10.... Honestly thought it was an ATS truck until I read Lonestar on the door
Any info on LoneStar Transportation?

Lonestar does not pay their company drivers any extra for oversize loads. I consider this BS. So basically you earn around .38-40cpm and you don't get oversize pay. Oversize loads are a big hastle and pay the company a ton extra most of the time.
rookietrucker and cactusjack Thank this. -
A friend that used to drive with over at keen transport went over ther about 8 months ago. He averages about 2600 miles a week at .42 per mile runs all 48 states mainly pulling a flatbed. They do pull some stepdecks, but the wind tower loads are done by an elite group of drivers in the company. They want you to stay out a minimum of three weeks....depnding where you live you might get home more.
Saddle Tramp, cactusjack and rookietrucker Thank this. -

Lonestar Transportation was founded in 1988 as a oilfield carrier.. 4 trucks hauling comp. to west tx. I worked for them from 1997, starting in a 3 axle truck, then over time progressed up to 4 axle in the heavy haul div..... They were sold to Tex Robbins in/or around 2003...when I worked for them i stayed on straight commision. I grossed over 110k my last year..They dont pay comm anymore..
I used to deal with one person for dispatch, that has changed now,no more perks. Exp. had to work over turkey day, boss sends you 500 comcheck on top of holiday on the paycheck..oversize loads mean weekend layover, hotels paid by lonestar...
Things always change, some for good some for bad.. it just isn't for me anymore..
P.S. I work for Emmert Intl.but still miss the "old Days" at Lonestar..
Thank You Gary Otto, Ronnie Wienzaphael, Bob Bell for the years of hard work you gave your drivers!!!Big Duker Thanks this. -
anyone know about the owner operator side of lonestat
-
I'm hoping we can get some info from company drivers, currently there, talked to recruiting, they seem nice enough, I'm going to give them a try, hopefully they can be a good fit for me.
-
Come on somebody can give it up for Lone Star, thanx
-
been speaking with a recruiter myself and they say its all rosey there???
Spoke to a few of there owner operators and they (all 3) said they are doing well with them 2 had RGNS and the other was a 3 axle ext step deck.
My only beef is they want me and my tractor but not my trailer.
Would like to talk to a few more O/O before i make a move.
