Also the trucks come with refrigerators. We are in the process of going to electronic logs. I am doing everything really the same because we were expected and required to follow the HOS before. When you first start they have you drive with another driver for a couple trips to familiarize you with things.
Any info on Point Dedicated Services ?

A lot of loads go to the Tonawanda plant , the terminal is on Woodward ave. not far from the plant. There are some OTR drivers there and some that go between there and the drop yard in Ohio and do local p/u and del.

bump...still working for point mp8327? any updates you wanna share?
Onadetour Thanks this. -
Yes , I'm still at Point been here over two years now so now I'm at .41 a mile . I still have the same truck haven't had any major issues with it . The new trucks are coming with outward facing cameras, not the kind that look at you . The company did not want those because they really don't help safety, they don't want to look at us and most of the drivers are adamantly opposed to them. I haven't been to El Paso in a long time, they are not sending solo drivers there anymore. Mostly going to Laredo. We are getting a new terminal in Laredo , its going to be down the road past where the Flying J is . I did 3700 miles in the last 6 days back home now. This is with e logs. This is not like a lot of companies where you have to wait around for loads. When I stop for a 10 hr break its 10 hrs that's it and keep rolling and that's what you are expected to do.Average 600 miles a shift unless there is some adverse conditions or something else unexpected. Compared to what I've done at other companies this is relaxed and easy, I do basically the same thing every week , going from Michigan to usually Laredo and back.

They have health insurance after 90 days that is kind of expensive , I have it but if you have other options its worth comparing. After a year you get a week paid vacation and can enroll in a 401k . Solo drivers go home every week, it is not always the weekend, it could be any time of the week. If you need specific days off it has to be requested in advance. I think team drivers stay out at least 12 days. There have been a handful of times I have done a restart in Texas because of an unusual situation and then after going back north flipped back to Texas but they ask whether you want to do that. When you go home they ask what day and time you want to come back and then something will be planned for you. Sometimes they might need you to come in at a different time, this is sometimes not exactly what you want but you usually get plenty of advance notice. All the OTR trucks are automatics now.You still need to know how to drive a manual because if something major happens with your truck you don't wait around for it to be fixed . You get a loaner truck from Ryder. I had to do this a few times when I had that prostar. There is paperwork you have to fill out every trip that seemed like a lot at first but once you are doing it all the time its easy. You get $15 every time you pick up or deliver at a customer. Tomorrow I will be doing the same thing as last week I have 5 pickups in western Michigan then head to Laredo. Usually you might do one pickup in Michigan and maybe one in Ohio then head south. Sometimes the whole load is ready for you at the terminal. You just
hook up and go. The only times when things slow down is sometimes it takes a day for things to get back to normal after a holiday, the two weeks in July when production stops and the week of Christmas there is nothing to do, you just stay home.localyokal Thanks this. -
Thanks for all the good info. I'll probably call recruiting to see what they have to say..I'll keep ya posted..thanks again

We have received 2 company wide pay increases this year . Solo drivers now start at .47 a mile ,teams .62
I do a minimum of 3300 miles every week . Usually Michigan to Laredo and back. Haven't really had any adverse effects from e logs here.Onadetour Thanks this. -
Is there any hare express drivers left? I worked for point, part time, back in 2011, very laid back. Pay sounds low, but ends up being higher than you would think cuz there is plenty of work.
