I think it's probably a strict "no" at all the LTL companies anyway. I've never seen anyone with a rider who wasn't a driver training a new one. I've never even considering asking because I already know the answer.
Any local allow riders?

HEB out of Houston allows their drivers to bring their kids or spouses at first I was shocked as you don't see it very often then again is not unusual.

Now, as far as what sort of runs to take wife or kids on, it depends on the run, where it's going, and what I'm doing. Doubles, or drop and hook turns, sure. Bin runs delivering to our route sales folks, yes. Vendor deliveries, such as pretty much any food service warehouse, nope nope nope. Layover runs, yes, since we don't have sleepers anyway. I would absolutely take my kids. My oldest is 11, and chomping at the bit to turn 12 so he can come out with me. He's gonna work, though, and he knows it.
