OK, copy that! I'm still waiting with some small bit of hope that Reser's will come in and get this place (Vaughan Foods) squared-away and improve the dismal wages.

I have an application in for AGW in Goodlettsville TN as a company driver. They are saying $.445 a mile. $950-1050 a week. Driver unload. Home most nights, some over nights.

I haven't gotten far enough into the process to get an answer on what driver unload entails.

I did start a thread a couple months ago in the Swift forum where GW lost 4 Walmart DC's. 3 in Florida, 1 in Brundidge AL.

Pick'ns is rather slim around here for home daily work.

What is weird id they sent me a link to fill out my W-4 etc. I don't know the details of the job.

I also have no reefer experience. That is on my application.

OK, talked to the recruiter. Pay slides from $.54-.45 a mile. Depending on length of haul. $20 for live load or unload. $17.30hr for detention pay. 100% no touch. Mostly drop and hook. Every other night away from home. $16 perdium for the over night stay. Approximately 400mi. radius from terminal. Average 1750mi. a week.

    $1050-$1100 a week. $54K a year.

Peoplenet for electronic logs, not for dispatch.

Refer loaded and fueled when I arrive. Break the seal and bump the dock. As soon as they get my back ground done, physical and pee-pee test next week.

I keep jumping through the hoops. The recruiter told me the induction staff were all new. They don't know how to use the software for all the electronic applications, and work history.

It took a long time for them to get my back ground check, and work history. One employer was really dragging their feet.

I am hoping to hear something today to go for an interview in Goodlettsville. I got a call last Friday from a woman in Shelbyville. They have a contract with Walmart down there and maybe Tyson.

Well tell me if they were playing a game. I got a call from the person in my area that schedules orientation. She was wanting to get me in for orientation. I asked, "don't I need to do a physical and drug test first?" She said in the computer I was ready to go. She called Goodlettsville and they knew nothing about me. That was on a Friday. I called her the following Monday. She contacted the recruiter I was dealing with via email. I got a call and was informed they hired on a first come first serve basis. They had filled the position.

"Luckily" they had a $2500 sign on bonus to come aboard as an O/O!!! They have a great deal with truck sales company and I could put $1000 of that on a down payment. No thanks.

She said she would check and see if any of the O/Ops needed drivers. She told me to email her from time to time and see if any company driver jobs open up. "Their staffing needs can change and company drivers are easier to get."

Things that make you say hmmmmmmmmmm.......

I don't know much but that sounds to me like a lack of organization on the part of GW (bad for trucking), either that or they were stalling to get someone in a lease and found one. Blessing in disguise rugtrucker Thanks for the update. And sorry to hear that, southpoint. Can tell by your name you had a good company there.

A little rant, about companies who have these people who are willing to help you delay you and your family's entire livelihood for their own personal convenience, i.e. leading people on, being out of touch, instead of being straight up and honest.. People who lie for a living - the thought is despicable. And i thank God that that wasn't the career path I started down or the person I became. Dishonest people, you ought to try the integrity route, test it intentionally and see if everything doesn't end up working generally better for you and everyone around you. If it doesn't, your money back guaranteed. oh sorry just kidding. But it actually does.. but its such common practice for that segment of people to lie and cheat that they become blind to anything beneficial that could have come out of simple integrity so whatever forget about it. I choose truth and the rest can go away

Here in the OKC area, they are flooding Craigslist with ads screaming for owner/ops to come play at WM Pauls Valley DC and AWG in OKC. I wonder if they are on shaky ground with those contracts...
