If I were you, I would apply. If you get the job, you learn a new skill but are still part of the employee team. I do agree with others that they will decide that it was cheaper to use an outside contractor. At that time you jump back into the warehouse and use their educational benefits and get a degree. Then you get in the management training program and springboard from there, none of it easy, but doable.

Okay, mom MOBee getting off of the soapbox.

Any hourly trucking job I had ( count them on one hand, of dozens) I never got time and a half. Straight time until I got back.

Just to update this in case others in the future others look here for info.

My D.C. (Holiday City, OH) only does jobsite delivery with straight trucks and it's sounds like that's the case pretty much all over. Company tractor/trailer drivers do exist but are rare and only in select spots 99% is handled by O/Os or other fleets. I myself am looking elsewhere but maybe this can help another driver one day. Menards as a whole has treated me fairly and paid me well for my warehouse job, from the inside I can recomend this company but can't personally comment on hauling freight for them.

    MOBee and Lonesome Thank this.
