We had several problems with our 03 CUMMINS ISX EGR engins.....................
    -failed EGR............engine warning light
    -failed EGR diff. psi. tubes.......EWL
    -failed VG turbo charger..........EWL
    -failed EGR cooler.........loss of coolent
    -broken exhaust manifold bolts.......exhaust leak
    -failed icon valve.............air leak
Our newer CUMMINS EGR engins .......04,05,06,07....are doing alot better. I dont have enough miles on the 08 yet.

Since I've got my licence, I've been stick with Cummins Isx engine. It runs pretty well. The only problem this engine has is an EGR Valve setup and that's in 2007 engines and earlier model engines. But the 2008 Cummins ISX doesn't have EGR Valve prob. Its because the cummins has replaced its valve setup to the cold spot where all thoses gasses doesn't affect the valve system to burn it out. After that the EGR stop creating problems.

I have a 500 Cat, 3.55s, standup bunk w/o roof aero, pulling a reefer, running Wis-Fla doing 65-70 MPH as an average, about 1500 RPM +/- in the big hole. No major hills to speak of, and I idle VERY little. I factored in loaded, deahead and bobtail (minimal). I probably deadhead more than most, though as a percentage of all miles, I dunno just what it is.

6.18 MPG for the year. And I'm happy with that.

I dunno about cumaparts, I've never owned one. (thankfully)
