its tmc trl, under tmc authority. about 65 per cent on the revenue.
I just never would lease to anyone running that many company trucks vs, o/o. but then some of us are grounded in reality also
Any owner operators leased to TMC?

First off, I have tons of cash, so the amount im saving specifically for maint doesn't matter. 20k/100,000 miles is .20/mile. My maint is in the low thirty's but, since i got new tires, and most of the problems are fixed, it should go down as I average in more miles.

its not 65% its 73% pulling their trailer. Do some research before saying numbers that are 8% off. TMC starts at 70% with a 3% performance bonus (standards are pretty low, you should be able to get that) and a 5% trailer bonus. With the bonus, (based on 13 week average performance, paid weekly) its 73% pulling their trailer and using their taps/equipment. Its 78% if you have your own trailer and equipment.
i would think the same thing about competing with company drivers, but im one of tmc's better drivers. they want to keep me happy. My friend is a company driver for TMC. We both have the same FM. If were in the same area he always calls me first. My friend will then call and tell me his load and its the option i turned down. TMC takes care of thier O/O. Now i dont know that all companies do, but TMC does. -
i dont know,, so i am just asking
when a company has company drivers and OO's, and a really good paying load/lane comes up, is it in their interest to give it to company drivers or OO's?
does it matter if they are paying the company drivers 40cpm plus bennies and the OO's 65% plus other charges? -
A ton of cash in pennies is $3,620.00
leftlanetruckin, Richter, Derailed and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ehhhhh I'd rather be able to choose my loads and not having to have them potentially give a better load to company drivers in order to make a few extra bucks.
-
the company drivers make % to. For the highest / mile freight, i think it would still be better to pay the C/D fr them, but I get better freight as an O/O then i did as a C/D. The C/Ds are a revolving door (slower then most, but still revolving) while the O/O's seem to stay.
All their trucks are governed to 62 as well. I norm cruise at 65 and can hit the right peddle for the right load. that extra speed makes a difference on real hot loads and can be the difference between making a customer happy or not. -
think about it, how do you think it works? same it has always worked in that regard. -
and in the end that's how it always works, whether anyone choses to believe it or not. I have asked tmc guys on percentage loading the same place what they are getting and the figures don't always seem to make sense. I am just sayingmilskired, leftlanetruckin and Battle Born Thank this. -
I do choose my loads. My FM knows what i want (because i tell him). He then gives me 2-5 options everyday. I also know a lot of the freght lanes and our shippers, so i know if im getting screwed. He has on occasion locked down a load for me before i even accepted it just to make sure no other driver would get it if they talked to their FM first. He says, if I didn't want it, its such a good load he could find someone that does.
So, in my experience, I get the best freight and since average line (not including fsc and the rest) is 3250 per week and im rarely under 4000, id say I get the best freght.
