I applied the 23rd of january. Got a phone interview the next day, then face to face a few days later. Then a few more days I went back for my physical and drug test and background paperwork, just got an update today that I am just waiting on a call to set my final start date. So overall it has been a really quick process around 3 weeks and waiting on a start date. I just hope they call this week so I can start next week. Its right on track with what the hiring manager told me, he said 3-4 weeks from app to hire.

I worked there about a year and a half. When I worked 55 hours and my gross pay was barely 900, I realized it was time to start looking for another job.

When you do start, let me know if the manager still keeps the new hand trucks with the blue handles in his office.

BS...only way that was possible is if every one of those 25-30 stops were dock stops, palletized, and dumps(no fill). I'd love to see someone finish 25 stops with 1200 cases in less than 14 hrs...impossible

and for the upcoming pepsi employees above^^^...the side bay driver position is tough, especially in the summer. i'm a side bay driver, my first few months here was hell, being a swingman( relief driver) means you're gonna be on a different route every day, whether it's doing sidebay(gas stations, small stores), bulk(picknsaves, targets, walmarts etc), merchandising(filling the product BULK drivers deliver at the stores i listed), or anywhere they're a person short that day. they will train you in all those positions so don't think they're just gonna throw you out there... you're gonna be out there 12-14 hours busting your balls, just because youre not going to know where the stores are, where to park, back door or front door, fill or dump, etc...BUT if you hang in there, or are lucky enough to be assigned to a route pretty quickly because of someone quitting or getting canned, then the job gets a lot better. you'll have the same stores every week(most of the time), you'll figure out the corners you can cut at which stores without getting in trouble, you'll get fast at filling because you know where the product goes etc....i can go on forever but you get the idea. average week is 45-50 hrs during the slow season. never less than 40. you'll gross at least 900$ for 40 hrs, 45+ you'll do $1050 and up...when there is a good sale going on at walgreens like 4 for 10, youll work 6 days and max out your hrs at 60 but you'll gross 1450 at least... once summer comes, most people put in 60-70 hrs/wk, but this summer coming up 60 hrs will be the max hrs worked allowed because of the d.o.t law that pepsi is NOT exempt from anymore, so it won't be bad, 60 hrs is nothing at this job, time fliessssss and you'll get used to it. pay is based on base pay(flat amount per day)+commission(certain amount of cents per case delivered).... you'll make 60-65k a yr. the benies are good. you get lot of discounts on stuff. etc.....
I hope i covered the main things on the job if not shoot me a pm

Question for you dextrdog. When you are unloading how do you unload? I have been getting my pick list, unleading everything off the truck at once then using the hand truck to take the stacks in all at once. Does this work better than unloading from each bay then taking a full handtruck in then coming back out and repeating? I was thinking of using the cart versus the handtruck because it holds more. What do you think?

yea that's what I do, i take everything off the truck first then run it all in, it's faster that way especially if you have a big order so you can make sure you got it all after you picked it. that way you don't have to memorize in your head what you took in already. only time I use a breakdown is if i'm delivering to a mall, office buildings etc, really long ### walks.. you'll figure out your own way that will work the best for you man trust me.
So do you guys have to scan in and out at stores too and do pre and post trips in your handheld where you have to scan under the hood and on the trailers?
