I usually haul big pipe and only 3-4 pieces, however this week I'm hauling small 5"x50' 63 piece loads, check out the pic below,

My question is; is it secured correctly? Or should I have put the straps on the bottom layer at the very end and did it the other way?

Any input would be great, thanks!

No 9 I think... First load like this so I wanted to make sure it was locked down...

4 on bottom, 4 on middle and 9 on top

I would put a belly wrap at each end with a chain.

Looks good,2 belly straps never hurt, they help stop center pipes from slipping out from the middle of load on hard breaking. The 1st 2 straps over top must be close to 8ft. from ft. of load.some co. say 10ft.?

Gut straps are only for the second layer (if total height is gonna be over 5' or when there will be more layers above)....You didn't have to gut strap the first layer....Also, the gut straps are only used one at each end of each bundle if multiple bundles (not your case here)....in our company we use belly wraps for steel bars and such...not pipe....

Each securement should be no more than 8' apart and, of course theres no maximum securements (as many as you want).

I just carried this load a week ago and had to call safety to check on my securements...so that's why I'm being so technical I gues!!!

    good luck!!!

a little overkill on the strapping,i would have went 2 on the 1st layer,2 on the 2nd and probably 7 on the top layer, banded and bundled it wont go anywhere, crank down on those straps and good to go

it's a dot requirement. 2 straps within the first 10 feet. and 10 feet max there after.

i would have done 3 straps belly wrapped. since you don't have pipe stakes.

i watched a guy haul 4 layers of 18 inch round pipe. he wrapped each layer with a chain and binder before the loader loaded on the deck. i'm wondering if that would be a comparible securement to actually having pipe stakes. when your hauling the bigger stuff.
