I have completed all the background checks and pre employment for PraxAir to be a bulk driver for them. Any drivers here have any info on them? I have a pretty good idea of the company and hours involved. I couldn't really find any salary info for the non union sites though. Thanks for any info.

It depends on which branch of Praxair you applied for. They have tankers and cylinder drivers. Praxair has a high turnover rate because they are a very strict company. I worked for them for 2 years as a company driver pulling cryogenic tankers and for the pay that I got, it wasn’t worth the headache. I made 65 k a year , got stuck on nights , weekends and holidays with no way to get off of that until either one of the very aged and crippled senior drivers croaked or retired which was far fetched. Good luck , I hope it works out well for you.

It's for the tanker division. This location rotates days & weekends, so everybody has to work them. But, the senior guys get the best start times. Just wanted some opinions with inconsistent ltl work currently. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like they changed how they do things there because for a long time it was hard for them to hire and keep drivers. Back when I worked for them in 2010 they had the best health insurance and retirement plans hands down. There’s no shortage of work there I can guarantee you that. Just show up to work ahead of time and follow their cardinal rules and you will do well there.

The Plant in Garfield Utah has been hiring for over a decade. They fire and lay off at the drop of a hat. I had a colleague that was fired because he had taken his seat belt off to readjust it as He was driving through the gate to leave on a run. Some uppity up saw it, ran out and fired him on the spot. Had another pal get hired on and was supposed to make 100k. instead he was on call 24/7 and wasnt even working fulltime. they laid him off 2 months later.

Been at a union plant for 11 yrs.
    Good pay and benefits.
Follows work and safety rules and guidelines and you will find a great paying gig w enough time off for a life outside of the truck.
If you have difficulty meeting the company's expectations you will not last long.
I expect to gross 120K this year.
    Last weeks check.

Thanks for the info to both. I should have no problem following any rules or guidelines if I'm paid well. It has been difficult to find salary info for the non union terminals. I would hope 80k is attainable.

Updated my profile and touched up my resume of the Praxair website. Will they hire someone from outside the state that they applied for? I'm interested in washington, Oregon, Tennessee, and possible Utah again.
If I have to , I'll apply at the Phoenix location and try to transfer later. But I'd rather not stay here if I dont have to.
