I know if you have a break from otr they will send you out with a trainer for 15k miles. I had to since I drove local oilfields for 5 years. I know for sure it comes out of a lease ops settlement can't confirm companies. It's 3 months with the company and mpg must be I think greater than 7.5. No incidents no alerts ect.

Your best deal for training, is to go lease, you have so much more potential on your settlements, we are talking in excess of 3 thousand dollars a week, its a risk reward deal more risk, more money.. No one has mentioned that finding only a trainee will be tough, because a lot of drivers can and want that trainee, but not a lot of drivers can Instruct. Remember a it takes a year to instruct and not everyone is up to the challenge of taking on the green horn.... When I take on a new student in my lease truck I really don't make any extra money until he passes and we run team, then it starts to pay off. If you are a company driver it would absolutely pay off right from the beginning with a student.... Running team with a trainee on the company side doesn't really pay off that well as it would on the lease..... If I was company, I would instruct only. On the lease side, I am forced to Instruct so I can get a trainee. That my story, I know some can find trainee's but with my fleet manager, no luck...
darthanubis, Chucktshoes and Highway101 Thank this.
