I can't believe it! Someone that drives and is a trainer that sounds like he loves it.THANKS! This helps with desicion making. Like to here from drivers that actually like where they work. We know it's not perfect world but its your world so try to enjoy it.
Well I passed my physical along with a start date of 9-27-10. They mentioned about flying me to Wisconsin. That beats driving (LOL since I am going to drive OTR) just hope they pay for it and not I. Looking forward to starting a new career though. It's a little tough having been retired for the past 3 1/2 years. Need to do something else instead of sitting around playing the xbox 360. LOL So who ever is starting on that day I will see you there!
fleet options depend on what is available in your zip code, do a search on go roehldotcom as inexperienced, that will give you the fleet you have to run in for 6 months after training. then run it again as an experienced, those are your options after 6 months OTR, some are regional or the hometime fleets (If you dont mind sharing the truck and emptying it out every time you go home for the next driver)
Anyone know what hometime a new driver could expect on the national fleet, van or reefer out of So. St. Paul, MN ?
i live about an hour away, some of my loads home are to the south st.paul yard, home time is 18/4 or 11/3 , or longer out longer home, but those two are the ones im deciding on. actually its sort of up to the driver, when i go out they ask when i want to be home, there usually seems to be something i need to be home for so i tell them i need to be out a few extra days to get home for my four off at the right time. its pretty flexible, as long as the extra time is you out longer not home early so far i havent had a problem getting home on time , been on my own since july 2nd, im 1100 miles away now and need to be home thursday night, so i sent a reminder about that, i deliver tomorrow and with my hours available i pretty much need a straight load home, which would be great, but i guess nothing i can do till i get a preplan
I am interested in Roehl. I am starting my third and final week in CDL training in Alabama this Monday. I asked the Office to get me a Roehl app, and am waiting for it. But let me ask you trainers (not recruiters)..... give it to me straight.... what are the pros and cons to Roehl? I know every company will have some disgruntled people say "they suck" or "no miles" or whatnot.... but how many miles can a rookie expect to make in their first 6 months? Why did you choose Roehl? Why would you choose them again? Thanks all! I really really do appreciate your input. (my other interests are Central Refridg, TMC, and H O Wolding)
Hi! I've been with Roehl for over 6 months now so still a rookie. Roehl I think is one of the better training companies. For my liking anyhow. But whatever company you start with will have it's good points or bad. If I were starting out I'd choose Roehl or Shcneider. I'm staying with Roehl. Why? Just a good fit for me. I like the people and pulling a reefer. Best of luck.
