So is Roehl really hurting for drivers or what? I left on the 5th of January and now they are calling me every couple of days asking if I want to come back... They sure know how to tell you no when you work there, but they won't take no for an answer now...

Its not containers, its Intermodal. That means its our trailers on a flat rail car. I'm pretty sure Roehl won't touch containers because the chassis are safety nightmares.

    childerscarl1 Thanks this.

Heck my last two weeks were my best there. Lots of miles no hassles and a pleasant vibe from the FM... Like they were setting me up. Possibly should have stayed as far as money, but being home with fam is so nice.

I second the being home with family... I know they do Intermodal out of Pittsburgh and Harrisburg both, too far from me, not that I would go back anyway. I had to be careful when I left, because I didn't really have a job lined up, just a class to get my passenger and school bus endorsements on my CDL. I knew that a prospective employer was going to have to talk to them at some point.

That's the job of a recruiter. Make calls to everyone and anyone. Really is just like selling sweepers... lol. Tho a little easier to make the sale.

The job situation is starting to get a little better, and people are looking other places, not for OTR trucking jobs. That is a good thing. It should drive the wages up for drivers, and maybe some postive changes will happen... I am glad I am home, and not living in a truck anymore. I'm not sure you could pay me enough to go back.
