But, $52 a year to conduct the company's business?? Would anyone know why this is (or the logic behind it) and why they don't pay for Cat scales at the point of use. I'm assuming any overweight ticket is your nickle.....

 

They are passing some of the cost off for the convenience of having the system. Trust me, 52 bucks a year is better than stopping at every scale and paying cash for every single toll and getting reimbursed later. I get prepassed at 90% of the scales I go by. That's worth it to me right there. The more you go through a scale the more chance you have of an inspection, the less attention from dot the better.

 

It is worth every penny! The time you spend paying tolls and sitting in the scales is miles your not driving. And yes, tickets come out of your pocket.

 

And u roll through way more toll costs then $52 a year that we pay. I go through Chicago, Ohio, pa, toll roads everytime out. That's just 1-80. Then u have 294, 94, 287 and 95 in NYC. It pays for itself.

10-4, I understand completely. What I don't get is why they don't pay for Cat scales? The 52 bucks per year isn't that big of a deal, but the reimbursement of the scales seems to be a bit of a PITA.
I'm just saying......not throwing rocks, or anything. Just wondering why.
Roehl seems to be a pretty good company to work for, I'm just trying to figure out the finer points is all.

Costs the company to load money on Com data cards so its more cost effective to reimburse drivers for scales.

 

It's not a PITA to get reimbursed for the scales. Just make sure you scan the scale ticket in when you send the paperwork for said load in.

 

There are a lot bigger fish to fry than how a scale is reimbursed.

 

As a prospective newbie I appreciate hearing reality portrayed.
