I'll make you a deal. I'll take your luggage out for 21 days and leave you at the hotel on the compound. LOL

Naw; that's too much like a zoo. I would get in too much trouble there. I would be better off rolling down the road with my feet hanging out the window airing out....:mcool:

No i haven't ever pulled a van other than CDL school. You see quite a few docks, bays, loading areas and some construction sites too.

Flatbedding is not for everyone. Hot in the summer securing and tarping loads. Cold in the winter doing the same. Wet if not prepared for it if you are at a customer that has you tack down the corners of your tarp and pull out of the building (i do that anyway if others are waiting to load). Its a bit more work than closing doors & sliding tandems. Not talking down to van pullers out there so please dont take it that way.

also tyvm re the kind of trainer you'd like to have but Maverick tries to match up their students with instructors who live close to the instructors home so when the instructor gets home, the student does too. Doesn't always happen that way but they try. Maverick also tries to match up personalities students and instructors or an extremely patient instructor with a student whom Maverick's training department may think would require it.

Tamko in Frederick, Md. , Fletcher, oklahoma, etc. tight as a tick on a coondog. Its all in the set up right?

When in doubt, get out and measure it. I'm sure some drivers have been sent to pu with a 102 and the dock was made for a 96 wide.

Yep an opening in the side of a building after you back it in, your trailer is about level with the floor of the dock and you are loaded from both sides by forklift. Some can be quite the challenge with a 102 wide trailer. Nail it dead center at Fletcher, ok with a 102 and i think its 3/4 inch clearance on either side.

Just fyi for all Mavericks out there. The new F series trailers with the dome looking rear clearance lights on the rear corners of the trailers? The dome actually sticks out a bit from the side of the 102 trailer's rub rail so i'd say your at least 102.5 wide. Good to know you can pop those off before backing in to a tight dock so you dont bustem off. Carefull pulling through tarping area's ie Logan Aluminum in Russellville, Ky as well. Kind of a no brainer, but your just as wide when your backing up as you are when you are pulling through. lol

At least at tampco you don't have to back all the way in the sump. Just far enough for them to get to the nose. Amazing how people think flats never back. I have pulled tankers, boxes and flats. I even peddled pulling vans for several years with a 45 & 48 before the 53's came out. The tightest holes I ever hit was with a flat.:biggrin_255:
