I got lucky. Fulton, AL to Middleburg, PA. 80,600 with full tanks. I should have waited, lol. Then near Birmingham a car decided to cut me off and stop on 20. Dead stop. WTF. Hard brake, shoulder. Lumber came forward some. Scaled. 36k on drives
Was 34100. But no scales till Knoxville. So I went with it. shifted 5th wheel. Scaled right after because I knew what it might be. Got to 34400 So I went. Moved all tarps to rear of trailer and burn fuel lol
Then trailer lights shorted out near Harrisburg at 0500. And blew a drive. 30 miles, I just limped up here.
I ain’t freaking moving until I’m all fixed. Good lord was looking out for me, but I gotta do my part as well. What a freaking load.
Surprisingly 81 in VA was nice and quietMoosetek13, T.Rucker, bentstrider83 and 3 others Thank this. -
Got the warning for it over the Qualcomm and didn't experience anything. Rolled with my milk tanker through the Lamar CO and my hometown Clovis NM scales with no issues the past, three days. Even ran up to Garden City and back and didn't notice anything commercial enforcement related in that side of Kansas. I did notice sheriff's car parked in odd places every 15-20 miles along the US-83 between Liberal and Garden City. But I'm guessing they were enforcing McSpeedlimits.
I usually got nailed by TX DPS in either September or November. First was back in 2015 north of Hereford at their little temp scale thing, then the second was sometime in September of last year south of that picnic area that sits just below the OK/TX line. 2015 inspection was dinged for an "unsecured fire extinguisher". The second got me nothing.
Whether you get a clean inspection, or get dinged for one or multiple violations, I say just roll with it and handle any issues that might arise from it in the future. Some states hit harder than most, others hit lightly if at all. But after doing this for long as I have, it's just another negative that comes with the job. I'm quite sure other careers have their own "fireable" issues that result from some sort of failed inspection should some driver get fed up and feel the need to attempt the dreaded and often failing "career change".
Failed inspections and investigations in other career fields due to neglect or abuse on the part of the license holder in a given career field would probably also harm/eliminate ones job if either an employee was just terrible. Or the given inspector or investigator for that industry was having a bad day and under pressure. -

Today’s update.
Headed down 77 towards Charlotte the scale at the bottom of fancy gap was closed up tighter than a ducks ###.
Rolled down to 26 and kicked one of in Irmo SC then back out 26 to 95 south and not a cop in sight?
Down 95 to GA scale at the line open but got the bypass with no customers in the scale house?
The second GA scale open but another bypass and then down to the Florida state line rolled through the ag check was uneventful as usual and then on to the first Fl scale.
Came down the ramp expecting another bypass but nope directed in for a weigh.
As I roll up the scale I see an inspector standing there with a clip board.
At that point I thought to myself my luck has just done run out.
As I rolled up to stop before pulling on to the scale the inspector throws his hand up for me to stop and I begin to get that sinking feeling in my stomach.
Then for some reason he just walks across the scale in front of me and into the scale house?
I pull on to the scale get an immediate green light and I’m off again.
So far the week has been quite uneventful but stay tuned because there’s always tomorrow lol.Hammer166, alds, Moosetek13 and 5 others Thank this.
