Some do, some don't. Some treat a placarded truck with more respect, others treat it the same as any other truck. Net result: placarded truck gets more respect.

God prefers Diesels and John E. Thank this.

so what new regulation have they come up with that requires a safety vest??

only people I knew who cared were some shippers and receivers.

mine stayed with the hard hat and safety goggles.

Exactly. If I was the dot inspector and I saw a driver scrambling to get his vest on as he was handing me his paperwork I wouldn’t think “wow, this guy is safety conscious”. I would probably wonder what mega company got ahold of this poor sap.

I wear my vest when required and that’s it. The only exception is if I’m moving an escorted oversize load at night, then I have a clean new vest on at all times, and I require my escorts to do the same. Just never know if we might have to jump out in the middle of the road to clear an obstacle, tight maneuver, ect.

There's no law requiring a safety vest. Then again, there's no law requiring a shirt either. Come to think of it, there's also no law against flipflops.

Driving with a Sarah Palin blow up doll wearing a safety vest sitting next to me in the passenger seat has been the best way to avoid inspections.

Inspectors either giving me thumbs up while passing me thru or mouths dropped in too much shock to do anything.

    Must be pa Lol.

Who cares about the blitz. If you know everything's good just roll and don't sweat it. If you get picked and they wanna find something to write they're gonna write no stopping em

Could be. We know it's not Michigan. The road looks to be in too good a shape to be Michigan.

I go to Michigan quite a bit, haven't noticed anything unusual about the roads. Worst stretch of highway I've seen lately is in Louisiana, on i20 over by Shreveport.
