Google maps, I think maybe also the Hammer app, and a CB radio.

I run Google Maps constantly to keep an eye on what's happening with traffic, but don't use it for your routing or you'll be screwed in short order, just to see the big picture for traffic and time in general.

As far as weather goes, try some and see which you like the best. I've been thru a dozen or more and none are perfect.

    Traffic: Google Maps
    Weather: myradar app
    CB Radio

+1 none are perfect. You can't route with Google Maps, myradar seems to update slowly, and CB radio can get hijacked by morons sometimes.

I gotta turn my CB off at truck stops because there's just nothing good there. On the road, you know there's an accident ahead, so you ask which lane is closed, and someone tells you the wrong lane on purpose. LOL. But that said, there's also a lot of good chatter, so take the good with the bad.

**Keep an atlas in your truck in case your internet goes out.

I have an app called: “Drive Weather”. It is surprisingly good. Used it some last winter.

    TroyTruck Thanks this.

Waze tells you where the speed cops are.

Google maps is better for seeing the traffic slowdowns

weatherbug is good for the radar to see the storms

    TroyTruck and slow.rider Thank this.

I use Trucker Path as a truck stop directory which also shows traffic info from Google Maps. I use MyRadar for weather info, etc. I use Windy specifically for high wind areas.
