Amazon is down 1 plane.
Sheriff: No likely survivors in jetliner crash near Houston
Kinda wondered about this. Yea they have the money, but what about the talent? You don't just snatch up thousands of qualified people, takes years to build a company.
I mean we're not talkin about people with vests on, pulling boxes off shelves.
Anybody else going bankrupt due to Amazon?

This is why UPS has been distancing itself from Amazon. They raised their rates to Amazon a few years ago. That's when Amazon put it's own delivery service in high gear. UPS supported the decision. Amazon is still reliant on UPS and pretty much begs us to help them for peak season.

Amazon has been working hard at developing its
own capabilitys to eliminate transportation brokers
And all middlemen whenever possible.
I'm just a stupid truck driver and I've been saying
This for 25 years. But what do I know.
Brokers are a unnecessary tax on the public.
It takes 3 things to move a load.
Shipper
Truck driver
Receiver
That's it. Anybody else is just stealing money
For doing nothing.
Thanks amazon cutting out the brokers and
Selling me stuff so cheap it makes Sam Walton
Turn over in his grave.
Spent about 500 bucks on there last week.
Can't wait for all the crap to show up at
The house. -

My wife won't stop buying stuff from them.dwells40, win-some-loose-less, spyder7723 and 12 others Thank this. -
Atlas 767 cargo jet, part of Amazon fleet, crashes in Texas with 3 people aboard
Now, to correct something in your post, Amazon does not own any planes they contract with two air service leasing companies to operate planes exclusively for them, including painting them in their livery. They contract with Atlas Air, the company that owns and operates the plane that just crashed and Air Transport Services Group which operates owns and the other 20 planes.
Interesting side note, Air Transport Services Group owns ABX Air, which is they former Airborne Express package delivery company. When DHL bought out Airborne they were not permitted by Federal law to own the airplanes as a foreign owned company so ABX Air continued to provide domestic air support for them. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the old Airborne executives behind the Amazon expansion into their own package service.Accidental Trucker, PoleCrusher and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
