I've never put much consideration in to intermodal but CSX is building a large Intermodal facility near my home they are calling the Carolina Connector. I tried calling the number listed on their website to get information on becoming an independent contractor. The person answering the phone said they were some delivery service and when I mentioned CSX intermodal he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. Independent Contractors
Well, I went to CSX in Chicago for several years, I thought they were the best, as far as intermodal goes. They also had better equipment at the time. Be advised, some chassis may still use tube tires. It's one reason I got out.
One thing seems certain. They are apparently not hurting for more independent contractors as they make contacting them impossible. Ive tried 2 different phone numbers, neither work. Also no reply to the email I sent through their contact page. Independent Contractors
Thats the number that went to I believe it was Evans Delivery Service. Anyway, after contacting CSX`s intermodal sales, the first of 3 replies directed me to Evans Delivery Service as they supposedly contract all the trucks. The second pointed me to a basic CCX Drayage onboarding outreach form. The 3rd pointed me to needing an Interchange agreement through UIIA.org.
