Anybody in the Midwest area willing to teach me how to unload and load cars off

You fold in the mirrors and back the cars on or off. I always backed cars on since when your delivering it more easy and faster to just drive cars off.

You can lean out the window and back if you want or use the driver side mirror. It's pretty much just practice. That's how we did it when loading BMW. Since I had a job for the trucking g company to deliver them. You would think they have some special training. Nope, we got the cars and you just drive one on the truck and back it off several time. They did give use the small cars to practice with so their was more from on trailer. Sure they showed use a couple times but then they gave us the key to the new BMWs said hop in and drive it on and off the truck and don't hit anything.

 

I cannot believe this went on at a BMW facility.

 

That how it works, the trucking company did not have training cars. So all they can do is basically show you how to load cars. Then you go get the cars for delivery and load them on the truck with the driver.

BMW has nothing to do with the delivery it's all on the trucking company. So they kinda show you how to load the truck. You basically just keep it close to trailer on the drive side and you know then the passage side won't hit anything.

 

Yeah I know how the game is played, and yes you train with actual vehicles. That being said...they don't send a trainee out in the yard and say have at it. They would have more torn up crap than vehicles to haul. BMW would have a conniption fit and kick them out.

 

Go to a car lot and watch how its done.

 

BMW makes the small Z4 and SUVs I'm Greer SC that's were the trucking company trained us. Even I will say the training was not very good. That's why I say it really just practice and starting with the smaller cars and taking your time.

They just had use do local delivery for 1 week. I'm not joking like day 4 they had us load cars and make deliver. New cars only needed like 4in space between them so they don't hit each other on truck. The trucks they used for BMW can only hold 8 total.

They used a pan truck setup and bars. So basically you set these two bars just far apart so when you drive con into trailer the tires would rest between the bars. Then you lift the rack and the car looks like it's in the air with just 4 bars holding it up two for fro the tires and two back.

So the whole trick to the system was learning were to set the bars for the cars. Once you knew that you setup the truck/ bars. Then just back car on the trailer and drive over the bars(they are all lowered and sitting on the floor) the car tires will naturally just rest in between the bars and stop.

A regular 12 car hauler would not have the bar system they just drive the car on trailer.

 

No car hauling experience required. This is who hauls BMW MercedesBenz Porsche. They will give you the same quality training they gave me. Maybe they changed thing from back then but if someone wants the get into car hauling. You can make like $75,000 driving a company truck.

Find you an empty space with a painted line 75 ft long or an expansion joint in concrete will work. Fold your drivers side mirror in and hang your heard out the window, arm must stay in the car as that is a bad habit to get in. Then back and pull up and down that line as many times as you can stand. When you can do it without the edge of the tire coming off the edge of the line, you may be ready to back one on a rig. If you come off the line, you just tore up the fender on an F-250 because with big trucks you only have about an inch on either side before you hit something. This isn't as good as backing one on a truck, but when you get that opportunity you will be way ahead of the game if you can keep it straight with your arm in the car.

 

It's been so long since I learned how to load and unload cars, I'd probably mess up if I had to think about how to do it.
