its ok you have to consider 3.5 to 4 miles to a gallon and permit cost out of that. and took a week to setup this round. it isnt regular either sometimes you sit for a few weeks sometimes you run yer but off for a few. heavyhaul is a whole different ball game than regular freight. takes alot of $$ to make alot of $$.

You get 60.20% of line haul + full fsc +mt fsc. Regular breakdowns on their trailers. Do u have a 4 axle tractor?
Do much more research on this co.

Since this dead thread has been revived I'll chime in. I'm told that Daily runs all of their freight through their brokerage dept. before it reaches the company. The rate has already been dinged before it gets to the company but I don't know how much. My guess would be 10 to 20% is gone off the top before it reaches a lease truck and then the truck receives 60%. I got this from a reliable source but have no first hand knowledge of it. Obviosly if this is happening it is a very deceptive and dishonest practice.

I look at the trucks and trailers going down the road with their name on it and can't help but notice that the majority of them look pretty well beat and worn out. I know they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but.........

they have a fairly new yard at Morton, IL near where I live. Always a row of CAT dozers on trailers in there. I don't think I wanna haul D11's for $1.80/mile though. :)

I'm not sure where you guys are getting your numbers from? I work for daily and I'm a 6 axle setup. My average revenue to the truck since Jan 2013 has been $2.76 per mile. Now, out of that I pay fuel and the rest is profit for me in which the rest of the bills are paid(truck payment, ins, personal bills etc). Some loads have paid me as much as $5.43 a mile to the very low end of 2.11 a mile. The low end was a bounce load to get me somewhere else. My average deadhead has been 80 miles so far this year. Daily does not charge you trailer rental, permits, tags, no escrow account (unless you would like one) and have Tripak to use, free. I typically have a load lined up before I even deliver the one I have. They only "sitting" I do is when I run into curfews or travel restrictions and cannot legally move. 98% of the freight I've moved this year has been oversize freight.....wide,tall or heavy and/or a combination of all 3.
After I deliver a load and put all of my info in the Tripak, I normally have the money in my account within 3 days. I'm not sure what the stepdecks make but I'm sure it's less than 5,6 or 7 axle RGN/MGN. As far as the bigger stuff----yes you have more downtime, more deadhead and a lot more maintenance to consider. It's all in what you choose to do and how much you want to run.
Daily is pretty strict with who they hire. The average age of a Daily driver is around 55 years old. There are many people here with over 30, 40 and 50 years at Daily so something must be worth staying here...just saying..lol!

With oversize loads, you run less miles but generally get paid more for those miles. Since Jan I've pulled 34 loads and have grossed over $74,000. I've been home for a total of 45 days since January....not from not having any work...just wanted some me/family time. Of course, if I wanted to stay out longer I could. It's all up to you. I prefer to not be married to the truck...lol

In closing, yes you make 60.2% of the gross revenue. The gross revenue is clearly printed on your load card and is emailed to you with the load. Along with all the other info like..fuel sur, over-width money, dead head money (if it pays on that particular load) addresses etc. Your fuel surcharge also fluctuates with how heavy the load you are pulling is.

I've worked at another company that had "floating" fuel surcharges but none were as good as what Daily offers! In fact, if you look at what your carrier is taking out of your settlements and do the math, you will probably find that 60.2% is probably what you are making before fuel. Add up the trailer rental, insurance, tags,occ/acc insurance, escrow money etc... you might be suprised
