Did a heart rate drift test on the treadmill last Saturday using some instruction from Evoke Endurance.

Starting at 125bpm at the 20ish minute mark. Results below, but basically a 3% drift. So to rough it in, I set the top of my aerobic threshold at 125bpm.

Plan is to do 8 weeks, 10 hours a week at 125ish. Lots of slow.

11 days into the year. 14.5 hrs and 75.8 miles. Last 7 days

I really gotta get back on the trails this spring. I haven't ran much the last year or 2. Been doing my best to at least hit the weights a couple times a week but even that is difficult. Too much stuff to do and not enough hours in the day.

Just about halfway through the month and I need to pick up some base miles. I did some sprints on Thursday, and today was an eight mile long run. So far, this is how many miles I have for the month. My goal is 1,000 miles this year.

Trail running is a great change of pace from just pounding pavement. I need to incorporate it more into my routines. I know you mountain bike, which do you like better when you get the chance?

I prefer trails to roads.when it comes to running.

I used to prefer mountain biking but these days it's running since it's easier to do with the mutt.

Got my Sunday long run in today, a balmy 13 degrees out. My pace was not desired, by my heart rate zones were where I wanted them, so take the good with the bad. The shoes I’m running in now don’t have as much spring and bounce to them, but I can make them work. I might buy a pair of springier shoes before my half. I was surprised to see no one else on the road with me.

Nice effort for a cold morning. I almost went to the gym and hit the treadmill, but I'd hate to start my day like that.

14* when I went out the door this morning. Even folks driving were few. My paces have improved every day except today. I lost about 15 seconds from yesterday morning.

Could be the cold, or I could be worn out. Didn't sleep well last night, and got up at 2am. Plus 4 days in a row starting with a 2 hr run.
