the only one I know for the small suitcase generators is made by "genmax" but it depends on the size of your fuel cap.. $110

Best way to check is find a genmax dealer and see if your fuel cap fits it properly. If it does the kit (not counting mounting a remote fuel tank) install is about 2min.. GENMAX12V DC Gasoline Electric Fuel Pump GMEFP, unattended and high efficient, GENMAX Special design for small inverter generators, auto pumping gasoline, non-stop operation(GMEFP) you can also find video about it on YouTube

It looks like the predator has some kind of button on their gas caps. I don't know if that's removable to plumb in an aux tank to the gas cap. Assuming it is.

My pulsar 4000 doesn't have that. So one would have to be found.

If you're going to run something as big as the predator 3500. Do your research for the best wattage for the money. There are a few options with more power but the same measurements. And weigh less

Add dual fuel as a requirement. My pulsar 7250 weighs the same as the 3500. Has a bigger gas tank that will run 25% load for 18 hours. AND. It runs dual fuel. That means propane.

    The only drawback.
    No wheels.

Here's another tip for y'all. Build the largest and shortest extension cord you can. I have a 7ft long 10/3 that runs plugs into the 20amp circuit on my gen. Sitting here with the unit cycling on/off every 5min, it the gen barely revs up to compensate for the compressor.

If anyone is interested, I can post the part #'s for the plug ends. Cost was $55 iirc and took me about 20min sitting on the couch to cut the ends and hook them up.

I use a 2,000 watt craftsman’s. Actually it’s 1800 continuous. And a 10,000 btu ge inverter a/c unit. It’s the best setup. A 5,000 btu doesn’t keep up with the heat and uses more fuel. The portable unit is constantly fighting the heat given off by the exhaust hose and wasn’t efficient. But it was marketed as an 8,000 btu but actually was only 5,000.

I also cut a piece of 1/2” plywood to fit the window and slide the unit through that. It’s sort of a pain in the ### to put up and take down. But it works well. When not in use it slides under my bunk out of the way.

propane is by far the most expensive way to run a generator.. per their website "1" 20lb bottle is 8-9 hrs. My isx15 cost $1.50 more to idle for 10hr.. and my predator 3,500 cost ( at the price I paid today) $6.00 and run my ac & battery charger for 12hrs. my predator 2,000 will run my ac & battery charger 8-10 hrs on $3.00

Your unit didnt cool your sleeper because you didnt have it mounted and blowing air in your sleeper.

Again, my 5000btu unit will freeze me out of the sleeper in the middle of the day in S Tx because I have it mounted where it blows air right over me in the sleeper.

If you put a window unit in your bathroom, would expect it to cool your bedroom efficiently?

I put it where I could. And if it only cools the cab and not the sleeper then no I don’t consider that enough. I mean it’s not a big area. So the bedroom and bathroom analogy doesn’t really apply.

It makes perfect sense, size is irrelevant. You have to have the cold air in the area you want to cool.

Such as my unit blows the air right over my bed from my feet. But the upper portion of the sleep still gets very warm because there isnt enough air flow to cool it (unless I use my small fan to move air up there).

Your sleeper would probably benefit very well from using an actual mini split system that has the blower unit mounted in the sleeper. They are much more efficient power wise as well.

Looked at going with a mini split. But I have no where to mount the head unit. My back wall is all cabinets. And I didn’t want to loose storage so taking them out was a no go. I looked at a roof top. That wouldn’t work because the roof cap. also looked at an under bunk 9,000 btu unit. I was probably going that route, but I decided to try one more window unit. It does fine. It keeps the whole cab front to back top to bottom cool. Actually will keep it cold if you turn the temp down.
