    Don't matter, you can get a Chinese diesel heater to install for like $200 of the same quantity as the Chinese made space heater

    Wondering why they'd be illegal?

    And there are plenty of trucks with generators mounted to the frame.

    Well, the regulation was written in 1968, so at a guess, the prohibition is due to the fact that a portable heater of that time would almost certainly be combustion based...
