Anyone custom build a tractor before?

    Yea, a major factor is that I want the axle back, not forward. I found a complete alredy running FLD last night. It's a 2000 so the age isn't bad and it's in great shape. No ding's dent's or scratchs. I'd say the cab looks almost brand new but the frame shows a little wear. Gonna call on the price tomorrow. If it's decent I'll check into it more and possibly have a buy. Then the daunting task of going to pick it up and get it back home from way up north. Thanks guys.

    But what are the odd's of finding one? I've never seen a Classic without the brethers and side stacks.

    My point is, it would be far easier and MUCH cheaper to get an 84" Classic and delete the air cleaners and put the stacks in the back, if you can deal with the hood.

    ETA, I've been seriously considering doing the same when I paint my Western Star. The factory exhaust delete panels are $450 each for my truck. I found them by getting the last 8 vin vumbers off a truck that already had them. So if you wanted to delete the breathers, find a Classic VIN without them, find a friendly FTL counter guy and go to town! The stacks on a Classic would just need some minor body work to be deleted.
