#9 i mow my yard on my hometime and my wife gives me some compensation before i go on the road. is this breaking the rules ? if so i really dont care ! just another example of goverment over regulation !![]()

Nope, stuff like that is cool. It's more like you run a business when you are off the road, or you have a second job. The government is just trying to make the roads a safer place, I'm all for it. I know of a guy that works in an office for 50+ hours a week and drives bus on the weekends. I'm sure that takes a toll on him and I wouldn't want to be on a bus that he's driving.

I understand what your saying, but my point is there a lot of things we all do in our spare time. Second job, remodeling the house, taking care of kids or elderly parents, or how about the driver thats leaving for two weeks and his or her marrige is on the rocks. Any of these can stress a person out and make going on the road stressfull very possibly dangerous. -
I agree completely, the regs could probably use some updating and a little tweaking. But they are what they are, better to know them and understand them than to be burnt by them.
