Did it once and was really surprised how fast the time went. 10 hrs from Elpaso to Austin. The last hour being lost and finding the customer.

Like to drive half the trip anywhere from 200 to 300 miles then break at rest area of fuel stop. Truck stops kill you on your average speed and fuel economy. I get a cup of ice and a 5 hour Energy drinking coffie will make stop too much to pee.:yes2557:

I did it a couple of times, the last time I did it was about 6 months ago, and I finally feel like I'm physically back to normal.

I have never in my entire career driven a full shift without stopping, nor do I ever want to. This body was made to move. Besides, I don't store my waste. I get rid of it at the first opportunity. For me, that involves stopping the truck.

I just did a twenty hour drive straight through from Marshfield, WI to Albany, NY. I did have to stop to fill up my personal vehicle 3 times but that was it.

Although I think it would be awesome to do at least once, I've never driven eleven hours straight up. I drink a lot of coffee, which necessitates pee-breaks. Also, my butt tends to go numb, so I'll stop to stretch my legs. By the way, DVT scares the bejeezus outta me. No quiero, por favor. How are they prevented?

Right after Katriana hit, my brother had to, read that he had no choice, FEMA demanded it, hauling some load from L.A. to New Orleans non-stop other than if he needed fuel. He asked them what should he tell DOT or troopers, when they come after him. They slapped a sign or placard in his front windshield, told him they see that they'll leave you alone, and they better.

Isn't that ironic, how the government can regulate so you can't drive that much, unless you're doing it for them. The rules don't apply then.

    American-Trucker Thanks this.

I can remember doing it once. Made it from Hinton OK to Gallup NM. Hit some traffic and bad weather. I was running teams for 1 trip and wanted to get it over with. I hated my co driver with a passion.
