I noticed they have openings for the Target Dedicated account in Madison,AL. & the Publix DC in Bessemer AL.
Due to the driver shortage Publix is using RUAN to pull their Reefer units.
Anyone drive for RUAN?

Publix may be using Ruan to pull some of their loads, but it isnt due to a driver shortage. Publix has a 7-10 year waiting list for driving jobs.
What they have is a lack of hiring, not a lack of drivers. -
It's not do to shortage . It's simply cheaper to outsource to a company like Ruan
I worked for them but every single terminal is different so I can't comment on your local one. There are over 280 terminals now fyi, all run differently with multiple accounts inside each terminal -
I'm contemplating applying to Ruan as they have a local position advertised. I have been doing searches to see what others are saying about them, but I am not seeing anything that makes me want to pull the trigger.

Pay is above average and start off just same as anyone else. No waiting 2 to 5 years to catch up to others that been there. Your treated even and fair from the start. -

I have the luxery of making as much as i my 70hr clock allows. But its by no means ever been expect that i run that hard every week. But they sure do appreciate it. And i like big oay checks check.Redtwin Thanks this. -
I used to drive for Ruan. Likes the company ok, but every account is different and your experience will differ greatly depending on which customer you are dedicated to.
I see daily postings on Craigslist for the terminal I pulled for. Home daily, a.m. start, m-f work week, $65k per year. It's flatbed, which will scare some people off, but they should have a line of drivers out the door wanting to sign on. They're practically begging for drivers and trying to lure them in with a $7500 sign on bonus, and they are still so short handed they have to bring in outside carriers to cover their commitment. Its all because the customer on that account is an enormous pain in the butt to work for, and every driver in their hiring radius knows it. -
Redtwin Thanks this.
