Ok, with CSA off the ground and running for a while, is anyone driving for a "Conditional" company. My buddy is looking at a company, and their CSA standing is conditional (just recently)... other than the obvious thought that you'd better have your stuff in one sock while you're running, is there anything else we're missing?

Other than crashes, they're not doing bad, as far as averages go. I don't know how much compiled data is there, whether iits one year or 2-3... but 517 accidents, 4,000 trucks.... if that's only a year, they 1 in 8 of their trucks has a DOT REPORTABLE crash.

Here's the company I'm talking about:

Check out safersys for MC 722225

Ours is twice as bad almost,

but we're getting it cleaned up.

As bad as ours is, we passed a compliance review with flying colors.........

Looks like they had a compliance review in March, and were nailed with the conditional rating this past week.

I'm thinking of buying a truck and leasing on, doing some Texas only work, kind of part-timing it... their rates are great, and I KNOW I run clean.

    My $.02

Wih customers and brokers now getting bigger picture on how many times companies are deficient I wouldn't touch a company with a conditional rating without hearing their plan for getting cleaned up.

Their answer to that would be the deciding factor.

My buddy is going to work for them. I talked to the manager dude. There was NO qualification or background questions.... I told him that he's going to have to do more than just check to see if a guy has a pulse and can fog a mirror if he wants to improve his company.

Truck is a sizable investment if their customer base dries up, or they get an OSO because they fail to remedy the practices that got them on the radar in the first place.
