I can get behind everybody who thinks everybody else has to have an ELD having to pay for somebodybwho says no I don't need that extra expense. What an ELD costs is a good 3 years of paper logs expense, just to get setup, and that's assuming 150 bucks which is the cheapest I've seen.

Because having a mechanical engine is not BS. Therefore not under a BS exemption.

Technically they could have picked a far earlier year. But the number was 2000 for computer languages sake (IIRC).

Regardless clearly working an electronic monitor onto a mechanical truck will not work.

Here let me say it so you get it.

End all BS exemptions. See the BS part?

Like bullhaulers being to stupid to run an eld. Or fuel haulers being to valuable. Bee haulers, Sikhs, Armenians,Old Dominion, fireworks transporters.......all idiots asking to be allowed to stay on paper simply because an ELD is not convenient.

You know ########. And yeah that is going to be censored. It is however the fecal matter that falls from the south end of a north bound bull ;)

One other little piece I'd like to add to that, average time left on the HOS clock at the time of the accident.

Oh Wow...now looking for the Bullhaulers to chime in since you have been called stupid. Lets not forget our brethren the Sikhs. I just ordered from the local Chinese food joint. I'm here for the long haul.

Have you ever hauled cattle? Have you ever worked with cattle? You can not put cattle on a trailer and haul them around and then park them in the heat for 8-10 hours and last more than 6 months doing it. Heat stress is very hard on critters, as in I don't know how many times I've seen my grandpa chew some idiots ### because he parked in the July heat with a load of feeder pigs on, and then the boss is called and told not to ever send that SOB here again.

And the difference between logging it on eld and paper is what?

What they want is to be exempt from HOS. That is unnecessary, and they know they would never get it. Hell as much bribing as the farmers have done is already criminal. The entire farm bill just passed is ......never mind.

The only difference is they can lie easier. That's it. All this amoral outrage about bull hauling is laughable.

Either they want to lie easier, or they are to stupid to operate electronic devices. Those are the only options because the eld exemption is not an HOS exemption.

You are mandated to have a fire extinguisher, triangles or flares, conspicuity tape, insurance, certain lights, adequate signage.......

It is well within the public's purview to mandate what equipment is required to operate on public roads.

Further the cost of an eld is pennies a mile when figured per year. Probably part of a penny a mile. Yeah big time expense there:rolleyes:

LOL!!! That's a good one! Your credibility just went right down the drain if you actually believe that.

At any rate, all you good puppies make sure to send in your $40 annual membership to OOIDA.

We're going to need some ongoing representation from big business special interests clowns like Mr. Maverick that would love nothing more than to squash one and two man dog and pony shows like us.
