The same megas that have some of the worst "safety" ratings imaginable. Most of them average a 15% OOS rating. Can you imagine being put out service 15 out of 100 times you're inspected?

Really, it is the market that allowed me into the segment of the industry that i’m in. Like i said you have tunnel vision. You do realize with relatively little effort you could be operating the same as me. Right? Go and drop a few applications off and boom done.
You call me a leach for taking subsidies. Last i checked, i haven’t recieved any checks. No goverment agency has substadized my operation. Again my bussiness is none of yours. You don’t get to run it....that’s why i’m still in business. If you had your hands on it i’d be broke.
I operate under the rules in which i have been given to operate under. You can give all the flak you want scream as loud as you want. In the end you are a nobody. Not even a pimple on my arse. Your opinion is worth nothing. You have no control and never will (as much as that may pain you).
I’m going to keep on doing my deal, and fighting for it. Me vs. you...i’ll Trump yo butt every time
Rubber duck kw, Oxbow, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this. -
You miss the point.
Farm subsidies, and special privileges are the basis of your operation. Whether you choose them or not they in fact exist.
And so long as people use the government in such a manner I will call them out.
Oh and the idiot in the video would have faced double homicide if those kids had held their ground. Wouldn't expect any better from a pig hauler.Last edited: Jan 6, 2019

Maverick's (the company shill from Alliance) OOS rate is 13.3% and over 40% in Canada.
I seem to remember an old adage that says, "Physcian, heal yourself." -
That is because Canada is racist towards American carriers

I have no problem with them raising insurance requirements as long as they no longer let companies self insure and make them buy insurance on the open market same as everyone else.
I have nothing to add to the dead horse discussion in regards to exemptions that I haven’t added in all the other exemption discussions.wore out, Humblepie, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
I can see mandating the insurance across the board. But being as it is proof of financial responsibility (in the ways the laws are written) most of them have enough in reserves just to post bond (self-insure). You can even do it in some states for POVs.
Most of the big boys have catastrophic insurance as well. Hell even Wally World does, though we are self insured. -
By this reasoning we could do away with HOS altogether, then it would be absolutely fair for everyone.
Would you agree to that ?Rubber duck kw and gokiddogo Thank this. -
The point is that if they had to purchase insurance on the open market and then turn in every property damage claim they probably wouldn’t want to raise it across the board because it would also affect them in the same way it would everyone else. And they would lose the advantage that they are seeking to gain by what they’re wanting to do.
If they had to buy insurance like everyone else they would be forced to also reign in their hiring requirements and maybe actually train drivers properly before turning them loose on the road.BoostedTeg, shogun, wore out and 6 others Thank this. -
Bingo, buddy.
I started with May Trucking years ago. They have full-time in house body shops doing exactly what you're saying.
In fact, now that I think about it, Old man May was the first trucking company in Oregon allowed to self-insure. At the time it was like a 5mil bond, if I remember correctly.
