if that's true them explain how my fuel mileage went DOWN when I use loves fuel....
I had a deadacated run same miles everyday... same weight going north, same weight going south.... always fueled at the petro in Hillsborough, Tx just south of the I-35 e w split.... change to the loves on I-35w for a week then switched to the loves on U-35e... my fuel mileage dropped. 5mpg on loves fuel the switched back to petro and it went back up so no all fuel is not the same

What was the bio percentage?
-
I thought that all diesel came out of the same tank. Still do really, but I fuel at a couple small places, both Exxon dealers. And both have the diesel islands branded ExxonMobil. The manager says it is not generic fuel. Also says no biofuel diesel sold there. I do get better mileage out of it than Loves fuel

Also, Loves blends bio into their diesel at the truckstop. I have no idea if Petro does that or not. -
About me: I had the pleasure of working for a wonderful company in Waukesha, WI called Waukesha Engine, purchased by Dresser in the 80's and then purchased/ruined by GE in 2009'ish. Waukesha Engine patented Octane/Cetane CFR knock engines that were so precise, even the refineries couldn't justify replacing them with cheap chinese copies when considering such mass scale.
In listening in on a few conversations between production (machining tolerances/design) and chemical engineering staff it became apparent that refineries have way to much latitude in how hydrocarbons are refined. The types of crude used plays a huge part in the quality of the fuel and lubricating oils. It was all quite fascinating and sad once you realize sweet light crude producers have us by the short hairs.
Some of the above statements are neglecting environmental considerations such as ambient temperature and elevation. Floods observation is interesting and someone else up in that area should see if they can repeat his observations?
On a similar note i used to fill propane up for my gasser (grill) at the hardware store until it became to painful to wait for the staff to fill several 20#'s at a time. I started using Blue Rhino swaps (everywhere here in midwest) and thought nothing of it. Fast forward to getting our 1st Kwik Trip here in my township and swapped tanks out there, 1st thing i notice is my bi-metal thermometer dial on grill lid shoots up to 500 in no time. Maybe Kwik Trip needs to advertise Top Tier Propane for us grilling enthusiasts?JoeyJunk and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Just say'ncke, JoeyJunk and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
Furthermore, if it was all that, how come we ain't running it?
There's one thing to understand about trucking.
It's all about the Bengies.
And I don't care if you can run on Unicorn farms, if it's cheaper, I'll run it.
So, why are we not?JoeyJunk Thanks this.
