You missed the point. When drivers post incorrect information it needs tobe corrected. Not crying just fact, vs opioion

It took a while for me to learn it back in 2011
There's definitely a learning curve when it comes to get the rhythm of shifting. With enough practice it eventually becomes habitual, but I do understand why you'd consider it to be a distraction. I don't miss having to watch those RPMs or having to watch the speed to downshift. Driving automatics for the past six years has definitely spoiled me.FredTheBasset and nextgentrucker Thank this. -

Um, sorry Ridge, I disagree. The Model T transmission is totally unlike a conventional manual, and heard nothing but nightmares. There is no stick, and movement is by pushing the different pedals, and a hand brake and column throttle. I heard many in a panic would push the reverse pedal in order to stop quicker, ruining the reverse band. My grandfather tried explaining it to me once, never did understand what the heck he was talking about, and I'm a natural born leeever puller,,,Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I stand by my comment.
It is the easiest manual transmission to learn.
I never said it was the same as the cars that were made with a lever.
I can teach someone in less than 10 minutes how to drive one.
Nightmares?
Where?
I would say it all depends.201 Thanks this. -
A Model T is just a planetary 2-speed, like a lot of 2-speed axles in the recent past. And, yes, it is shifted with the right pedal; in for 1st, out for 2nd. The reverse pedal is in the middle, and closer to you, and the brake (which is just a single band brake on the driveshaft) is to the left. Throttle is a stalk on the steering column. The brake handle is used to SET the brake for parking.
A lot of T's had added secondary 2-speed transmissions, as well as wheel brakes (mostly on the rear wheels). I've driven a Model T, and trust me, it's not a "rewarding experience".. -
I'm lazy. But if I'm supposed to do something for pay I do it like they are watching everything I do. I'm grumpy that some others expect the world to change to fit them.
My theory is that as more and more people grow up with no fathers around, no men in schools, and women competing to rescue as many helpless creatures as possible the society is grinding to a halt or going over a cliff.TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, TripleSix, Numb and 2 others Thank this. -
I only have work ethic when I work for others/pay.nextgentrucker Thanks this.
