    Im just trying to make sure that im using it correctly, as the trailer is 3 years old and I dont drop my neck for vehicles often...maybed 1-2 times a month. Sometimes ill go months without picking up a vehicle.

    Im just making sure the procedure im using is correct. I dont think this should have happened. I ordered a new one from the dealer for $1050 today.....
    I noticed this while picking up a truck...... needless to say I had a good time trying to get unhooked, then hooked back up after loading the truck. Building up the neck with wood doesnt work so well on this trailer......

    @IH Truck Guy After waiting 2 months this arm finally came in......Looking at the above picture where the hydraulic arm is......there is a bolt there and 2 above ..... however my question is......can I do this myself OR, is there gonna be pressure in that arm and I need to let a shop do it?

    I'm not familiar with your trailer, but if the only pressure would be the weight of the support as long as you aren't packing the neck on the tractor. If you jack the hydraulic lever with no pto or pony running, it may settle down but you can relieve any pressure that way.

    Back to what causes the problem - if you haven't forgot to raise it up after hooking up, then I wonder if maybe you are backing in with bags dumped, and the airing up the tractor bags before lifting the neck support, which would have the affect of lifting the trailer with the neck support.

    Maybe @IH Truck Guy is more familiar with your trailer and can shed some light.

    No, since ive had a hydraulic I never dump my bags when lowering. Its obvious whatever the issue is, I have to change my routine. When I finally get it on(Im hoping I can make it to the shop friday to pick up the part) im gonna do a video on how I detach/attach and post here and see if im doing something incorrect.

    You should be able to change that out yourself.
    As far as how that happened, still scratching my head. I
    Always drop my air when detaching.
    When I had a mechanical neck,I carried a 6x4 just long enough to span the frame rails.

    You can do that job yourself. There's no pressure on that cylinder unless you put pressure on it . question when you unhook do you just lightly put that arm down on your frame ? no real pressure . Than pull away?

    No I put real pressure on it......I actually use it to lift the neck up and lower also.....I think this here may be my issue.
