There is a reason you should get there an hour early.

I take issue with Walmart's existence, to say nothing of their policies.

The late policy is BS, but what's even worse is charging drivers $50 to have their own employees unload trucks that are being paid by the hour regardless of what they're doing. Paying a contracted lumper service is fine, but why should I or my company pay your employees' salary for you when you're already the richest company in the world?

They are a scumbag company to say the least and treat us lower than dog dirt. I hate going there, I won't shop there. I wouldn't piss on a Walmart to put out a fire. You go in and they stare at you but won't let you approach them until they are good and ready and then mark you late. Spiteful SOBs. You're 5 minutes late because they can't seem to get themselves in gear and they will sit you for 5 hours. Spiteful SOBs. God I hate Walmart. I really do. I can't wait till it ends. And trust me it will fall big time one day. I hope I'm alone to see it.

They use the trucks for storage, plus, if they log you in late, they don't have to pay dentention to the trucking company. Tankers and flatbeds don't have to deal with Walmarts & grocery warehouses. On rare occasion you may see a flatbed at a grocery warehouse with watermellons or onions, but the reputable flatbed companies don't fool with that.

My feelings for Malwart have been well documented--and Otter your posts are usually spot on---BUT--every DC is different--and some of the bad ones 1 hour isn't enough--although they will not let you in early--some it is gate troubles others receiving check in---Washington Court House OH comes to mind--gate pass 59 minutes before appt--trailer dropped in door--5 minutes later--finally got to window 45mins past appt time--so in this case OP does have a point---Unfortunately most/many Company guys have no choice where they go--and the evil empires run the gammut from Horrible to not so bad and everyone in between
    Just sayin

what would happen if I got a large amount of drivers to petition the company :biggrin_25512: Likely be a large amount of drivers looking for WORK.

Thing you do not seem to realize is that your COMPANY went after WALMART to get these contracts and not WALMART running after your company to take them. It is nothing for WALMART to clear a carrier out of a DC and replace them in a very short period of time.

I had an appointment there at Washington Court House OH;got there about 4 or 5 hours early & security guard said I had to leave the property and return no earlier than 45 minutes prior to the appointment. Went back to interstate, finally found a rest area that was full, so parked on the gravel on the exit ramp. State trooper gave me a $75.00 ticket for illegal parking. He was real friendly telling me how his uncle is a trucker and how he respects truckers. I asked him, are you really going to give me that ticket when you know the rest area is full and Walmart won't let me park? He said, that's not my problem, the law is the law.

None of them have a clue they just like to whine and #####. What gets me is that they kick and scream and talk about petitioning the company but they cant figure out how to improve thier own situation.Anyone with an IQ north of a moron knows you dont go to Walmart. If you have to hit a Walmart DC you get there early and you play the game. Its called doing your job but thats something thats hard for alot of these guys out here. Driving the truck down the road without hitting something and backing the trailer into the door is a big enough job for most of them. They need to remember that Walmart didnt get to be the biggest retailer in the world by catering to truck drivers. I take that back there is an exception, the private fleet.
