So, give me an example of a bad example!

A smart driver plans his trip out so he has a spot to break before he hits his receiver. It wont always work out but in 22 years I can only think of a few times where I have had any problems. Staging at the last truck stop before your receiver is always the best bet. Of course you need to arrive early if you want a spot at most stops, this requires planning.
Parking on ramps even in rest areas is a last resort and is always a bad idea. Being a "sitting duck" is a huge liability for companies and at Landstar they will terminate your lease if your caught doing it. This should be the the policy industry wide but remember who were dealing with. You should have thanked that cop for not towing your truck. My guess is you mouthed off or did something else to earn that ticket. We all know that law enforcement has the right to ticket based on attitude and not just the violation. -
Desert Skies, ChinaTown sets a very good example. He is one of the nicest guys on here.
The problem here is that your one angry dude.homeskillet, cetanediesel, d o g and 2 others Thank this. -
Guessing a bad example doesn't count! You missed by a long shot. If you've really been driving 21 years, then you know the best of planning is a crap shoot, in trucking. Even rookies know that. No more comments on here from me. This forum is not for attacking people; it's for sharing information. I'm out of here.homeskillet, WI Cupcake, cetanediesel and 2 others Thank this.

This isn't Victorville. You might want to chill out before they give you vacation time.
d o g Thanks this. -
Even Walmart can be reasoned with. I have been late twice... both due to late dispatch. The first time I sat for 35 minutes and they pit me in a door. I was 4 hrs late to that one. The second I got to 15 hrs late. They told me to call someone when he got in three hours later, I talked to him and had a door within the hour.
Sometimes it is all in how you approach it.Desert_Skies, FLATBED and TruckDuo Thank this. -
If that should ever happen again, go out the gate and turn right to the next light and turn right again. There's a Lowe's DC back there with a long street in front of it where they let you park on either side of the street. The guard should have told you to go there. He was probably just bein a dick.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, Chinatown and cetanediesel Thank this.

Roger that, most of these guys wouldnt last a day in the hood. As far as the forum police, they do what they think is best for the community as a whole. Like I said I spend plenty of time giving back but I like to call out people that do stupid stuff and I love shaking the Walmart haters cages.

This is how a professional deals with Walmart or any other difficult receiver. Its all about attitude and knowing how to play the game.KMac Thanks this.
