I dont think I'll have issue sleeping tonight.

But now I'll have to contend with the fact that I may suffocate tonight.... methane is not fun.... sometimes 70 inches of condo sleeper just isn't enought to dispate it....

How long is your break? Ten hours is too short to use chemical help like sleep pills, etc.

I used comfortable ear buds and music to distract my brain from it's worries. I set my phone to play for a certain amount of time. The buds would fall out of my ears during the night.

The same also worked for me while I was studying. Music distracted my brain from wondering and I could concentrate on the work.

I'd try an old home remedy a half a glass of wine mixed with 1/2 a glass of cherry juice seems to help you sleep. Alternatively warm milk mixed with 2 spoons of honey preferably manuka about 40 minutes before you go to sleep will work well.

With the sleeper I keep the top bunk down and tuck a dark sheet into the top and drape it over so the sleeper is like a cave.

I certainly know what that's like.

Back when I was running linehaul at night i'd be grateful to be back in the yard by 6:00 AM, and be tired as can be IF you can go home after that. Problem is back then the pricks liked to send linehaul drivers back out to go sort and segregate somewhere for 3 hours. By then you're wide awake and would be lucky to gotten 2 hours sleep by the time you have to go back to work the next night.

    Boattlebot Thanks this.
