I'm all over the board music-wise (radio pop and rap excepted), but nothing catches my attention quicker than metal. Iron Maiden's 'The Trooper' at age 11... Never looked back, lol.

I read almost exclusively old literature... I think I landed on GK shortly after finishing some stuff by HG Wells - he writes more than Sci-Fi, but that's what made him famous. 'The History of Mr. Polly' is amusing.... Guy trapped in a job and marriage he hates so he decides to burn his own house down causing his death in doing so. Once his pants catch fire he has a quick turn of heart and incidentally becomes a hero in the town. A comedy of errors and misbegotten woes.
Currently reading 'Black Forest Tales' by Bertold Auerbach.... published 1843.... Public domain = free!!! And that's a pretty good price right there.

 

Thank you gentlemen, because of this thread instead of boxing crap up to move like I am suppose to be doing I just spent the last few hours digging thru new stuff to add to my iPod.

Why must I be so easily distracted

 

ive read several times that when trying to sleep it is best to leave out anything stimulating such as movies, internet surfing, etc. this is in a perfect world and everyone is different. i can't personally relate to such bc im the guy that can drink redbull and cappuccino then fall asleep during ww3...inside of 10 minutes.

regarding cover songs - mushroom heads cover of crazy by seal is amazing. i like both artists quite a bit.

 

It's been suggested many truckers suffer from some level of OCD..... I wonder if my coffee is done......

I've heard that a lot also. It does work for if I'm in a spot where things are cool and I just need to get to sleep, I will turn everything off and pretty much get bored and go to bed.

During the times when I can't sleep because of stress over a situation or something of that nature it doesn't do jack for me because there is nothing to do to keep my brain from mulling over all my options and plans of attack, or whatever you would call it. During those times it's all about the distraction and something to change the brainwaves and my mood so I can relax enough to get to sleep.
