Not the driveshaft, but I've had a U joint bust on me dropping the driveshaft. It was a loud thunk sound like hitting the dock door a little hard, and the tractor no go.

2000 Columbia with early ISX, broke right next to.a truck shop. Couldn't raise another driver to pull it off the road, so it had to be hooked, and the chickens had to be taken to another plant, much later.
Never any warning on that one.
Last one was a truck I drove from new, at the end it was like driving a paint shaker, and I finally found it from seeing the issue at the shop.
It never was as smooth as it was after the repair.Tombstone69 and 6wheeler Thank this. -
I had a carrier bearing explode while pulling a 10% grade at 82k gross. It wasn't too pretty to say the least. It actually bent the cross member that the carrier was bolted to.

Watched it happen more than once in the oilfield with company drivers. Hmm more power should solve this or yea ill get up that muddy 15% slope w/o the dozer pulling me. Lets talk about power divider abuse now lol.
