How is it possible to make a profit on one truck let alone four at $1.59 when you have to pay the drivers, fuel, insurance, maintenance, taxes and truck payments?

It won't even come close to $1.59 real miles. More than likely $1.25-$1.35 driver Bill mentioned is a friend of mine who used to be leased to CDN. For what it was he'll tell you it was ok if you like running 2,500 to 3,500 miles a week for nothing. He's doing the same thing I am now and would sell the truck before going back into a profit-less rat race like that again. A bad 3 or 4 days workweek now on much less miles sometimes clearing as much as 3,500 miles in 6 or 7 days with CDN. Not having to stay out two weeks a stretch. He works for it sure enough but at least gets fair rates, that's what it all ought to come down to in the end, right?
