I'm told they're still short on all mentors but especially flatbed. I hope it's a shorter wait for you. Good luck!:yes2557:

I too would go down to the terminal and get some face time with the terminal manager. Swift really seems to pay more attention to the "go-getters" moreso than the drivers who are content to sit and wait for a call. That has been my experience anyway.

Go dry van and transfer to flat. Or go to a flat bed only company. Call Schneider, Werner has flats.

Boyd, Builders Transport, McGriff? Western Express if you are desperate.

Builders, I have heard good from their guys.

As said before, you might need to be the squeaky wheel. Good luck to you.

Be careful with saying Builders Transport, some of the old hands may get a little offended, as would the company. They are actually Builders Transportation, and if I were gonna drive again I would probably work for them (they are Memphis local and flatbed only, thats why).

Builders Transport was a real craphole company (I should know, I drove dedicated van and flatbed for them) that was around for a while. They were big, but mismanaged, went bankrupt.

If you ever see an o/o driving around an older Freightshaker with a lot of chrome and its dark green with a yellow racing stripe up the side, thats probably an old BT truck. They bought those trucks to attract drivers to their OTR division. In dedicated I had a two year old Volvo condo, which was nice. Cabover in flatbed :biggrin_2559:

I guess some of you younger guys have maybe never even seen a COE, much less driven one. Lucky...

Swift has a fair number of cabovers in the fleet. Mainly on the West Coast. They're still around.

OMG Seriously? I dont remember seeing Swift cabovers even in the 90's! I remember Swift had that experiment where they put really tiny tires on the drives and the trailers, and had the high cube trailers, but I have always only seen conventionals.

The first truck that I was assigned to was a 1984 (I think) International 9600 Cabover. It had a tiny sleeper, no cruise, no jake. The steering wheel was HUGE, and I was lucky that I had power steering. Spring-ride suspension, no air-ride cab. The cab was locked firmly to the frame by the "hood latch".

    Yeah, those were the days.
