I'm told they're still short on all mentors but especially flatbed. I hope it's a shorter wait for you. Good luck!![]()
Anyone have an answer please?

I too would go down to the terminal and get some face time with the terminal manager. Swift really seems to pay more attention to the "go-getters" moreso than the drivers who are content to sit and wait for a call. That has been my experience anyway.
Injun Thanks this. -
anyupdate are you still waiting? My vote like tapeworm said be persistant that is what i did i had a mentor in a couple days
-
Go dry van and transfer to flat. Or go to a flat bed only company. Call Schneider, Werner has flats.
-
Still no trainer but I went back to driving for my father-in-law until I get the call to hit the road
-
Boyd, Builders Transport, McGriff? Western Express if you are desperate.
Builders, I have heard good from their guys. -
As said before, you might need to be the squeaky wheel. Good luck to you.

Builders Transport was a real craphole company (I should know, I drove dedicated van and flatbed for them) that was around for a while. They were big, but mismanaged, went bankrupt.
If you ever see an o/o driving around an older Freightshaker with a lot of chrome and its dark green with a yellow racing stripe up the side, thats probably an old BT truck. They bought those trucks to attract drivers to their OTR division. In dedicated I had a two year old Volvo condo, which was nice. Cabover in flatbed
I guess some of you younger guys have maybe never even seen a COE, much less driven one. Lucky... -
Swift has a fair number of cabovers in the fleet. Mainly on the West Coast. They're still around.
-
The first truck that I was assigned to was a 1984 (I think) International 9600 Cabover. It had a tiny sleeper, no cruise, no jake. The steering wheel was HUGE, and I was lucky that I had power steering. Spring-ride suspension, no air-ride cab. The cab was locked firmly to the frame by the "hood latch".
Yeah, those were the days.scottied67 Thanks this.
